Time is money, except for when it is not

New-Inverted-font-b-Triangle-b-font-Men-Women-font-b-Watches-b-font-Fashion-LoversFor most Westerners TIME = MONEY. Since the industrial revolution there is a value placed upon each unit of time because fifteen widgets can be produced within that unit and they can be sold for a definite amount of money. This stands in contrast to other areas in the world not as governed by industrial/postindustrial mindset, rather meetings start when everyone arrives.

Each of these views of time is equally valid and therefore also equally invalid dependent on the situation. For instance the concept of TIME as numbers on a clock is an extreme abstraction, add MONEY to your thinking and you have just abstracted the ‘moment’ to a much further degree. In some circumstances thinking TIME=RELATIONSHIP is a much more appropriate alternative.

We must use time wisely and forever realize that the time is always ripe to do right.    -Nelson Mandela
