Your resources are limited, there is fear that you don’t have everything necessary in order to get the job done. So you wait, you ask, you wait, you hope, and you look around why the world appears to be passing you buy. If you continue to wait until everything is perfect no one would ever sell anything, get married, or have children.
There are a few stories in the Judeo-Christian tradition that struck me:
- Pulling in the fish on the beach at the Sea of Tiberias (John 21)
- The Widow’s Olive Oil (2 Kings )
There are probably other examples of supernatural moments where the physical were effected in a way that benefited those in need. The nets of the fisherman did not break and they were able to feast on the shore with Jesus. The widow’s oil did not run out and she was able to earn an income and save the live of her son with only one bottle of oil.
Are these supernatural acts? or are these just great story telling? Regardless the encouragement for you and me is the same, what we have is enough and we should not sit on the sidelines until things improve, grow, or are more stable. Action creates growth and live in the hope that what you have is enough to get you through.
“The great advantage about telling the truth is that nobody ever believes it.”
